Diabetes and Natural Therapies

According to the American scientific association dedicated to the disease, studies
panel of diabetes indicate that nearly 16 million Americans suffer from
diabetes and the incidence of the disease is growing at an annual rate
alarming. It is estimated that at least five million of these are not even
informed about their status and are not under treatment for the disease. Each year,
approximately 798,000 new cases are diagnosed. Although the disease is
more often in adults and the elderly, diabetes has become a
more chronic disorders among American children.
Approximately 123,000 children and adolescents up to 19 years have diabetes. The
Department of the United States that deals with services to individuals and
Health lists diabetes as the seventh leading cause of death among
Americans.

Over the past 40 years the incidence of diabetes is type II
increased by 600%.
Genetics certainly plays a key role in the development of diabetes but not
we can blame only the inheritance of this dreadful epidemic. Since
our genetic heritage does not change so drastically over forty
years, we must look for other factors force taxpayers.

Diabetes is a degenerative metabolic disorder that affects the link
main between what we eat and the development of energy required to
our body. Most of the food we eat is
converted during digestion into a simple sugar called
glucose. Glucose is the main source of energy for the body.
After digestion, glucose passes into our blood circulation
where it is available for somatociti and those used to produce
development and energy. So that glucose enters the cells, insulin
must be present (insulin is a hormone produced by the pancreas, a
large gland behind the stomach) when we eat, the pancreas efficient
automatically produces the right amount of insulin to bring the
glucose up to our cells.
In diabetics, however, the pancreas produces little or nessun'insulina or
somatociti not respond to insulin that is produced.
As a result, glucose builds up, overflows and urine is expelled
from the body. Thus, the body loses its main source of energy.

There are three types of diabetes:

Type I - when the pancreas produces little insulin or does not produce at all.
About 10% percent of Americans with diabetes, primarily children and
young adults, have diabetes type I.

Type II - when the pancreas does not produce enough insulin or when
produces too much but the body does not use insulin effectively
produced. 90% of diabetics have type II diabetes, including a number
continuous increase in children.

Gestational type - is a diabetic who presents provisional
during pregnancy. Interested in the 2-4% of all pregnancies, and
carries the potential risk of developing diabetes for both mother
the child.
